In a Radio receiver tank circuit, how a station is tuned since resonant frequency is rejected?

Since the tank circuit is a parallel resonant circuit, the tuned frequncy is actually rejected since it offers high impedance at resonant. Then how is that it is said to receive the signal at that frequency?

Across the tank circuit is where the desired signal voltage is developed and coupled to the input of the rf amplifier. The tank circuit must have a high impedance at the desired frequency in order to develop a voltage at that frequency only. Frequencies above and below the resonant frequency of the tank circuit are passed off to ground because they are offered a very small impedance by the tank circuit.

Edit addition: To help you better understand a resonant tank circuit`s use in a radio receiver, and maybe contrary to what some other responders have stated, I offer the following comments.

The voltage across an ideal tank circuit (one with no resistance) at the resonant frequently is maximum while the current at the resonant frequency entering and exiting the tank circuit is zero. Therefore the tank circuit does not pass the wanted frequency while rejecting others. As a matter of fact a tank circuit blocks the wanted rf carrier frequency and makes it available to be coupled to the input of the radio receiver`s rf amplifier while passing the other unwanted frequencies above and below resonance off to ground.
