What is the best home security system / burglar alarm company?

Considering quality and cost, for a single family home in the state of Washington?

A locally owned company with a good reputation. I would avoid the large companies that advertise on the television. I’ve been in the industry for almost 30 years now and I’ve seen the large corporate companies loose control of quality at the local level. If you are looking for a home alarm, ask around, especially in the higher-end neighborhoods and see who gets the word-of-mouth recommendation. Our company has no advertising and no sales dept. We live on our reputation by word-of-mouth. It pays to be good and consistent.

Also, call the local police for a recommendation. We get occasional recommendations that way.

The concern, however, is the mute feature will accidentally be left on or forgotten, rendering the audible alarm in-active and pointless. The BP500 with Inteli-mute is the answer. By constant monitoring of the alarm, Inteli-Mute eliminates the possibility of accidentally activating the mute feature and/or forgetting the alarm has been muted. Once the Mute button is pressed, Inteli-Mute first silences the audible alarm, leaving the back-lit button flashing as a visual reminder of the alarm condition. If after 5 minutes, the alarm is still muted, Inteli-Mute turns off the mute feature. The audible alarm then reactivates, warning that an alarm condition is still present and needs to be resolved.
